John 3:16

The message of the Good News comes to a focus in John 3:16. Someone has well said that if you could summarize the whole Bible into one verse, this one is it!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

If we were to meditate upon that verse daily we would be found blessed everyday of our life! In it God sets the pattern of true love, the basis for all love relationships. When you love someone dearly, you are willing to give freely to the point of self-sacrifice.  God loved us so much that He was willing to pay dearly with the life of His Son and then offer us the new life that He had bought for us. That's a lot of love from our Creator God whom we have disobeyed continually! (B.N.)

Precious Pearls: 

-Eternal life is not an extension of a person's miserable, mortal life; eternal life is God's life! 

-to 'believe' is more than intellectual agreement to what God says, it means to put our trust and confidence in Him that He alone can save us (Acts 4:12) It is to put Christ in charge of our present plans and eternal destiny. Believing is both trusting His words as reliable, and relying on Him for the power to change.  If you have never trusted Christ, let this promise of EVERLASTING LIFE be yours now by BELIEVING GOD!

-Once a child of God, He will never let you go! Nothing will separate you from His love!

"I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,

nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,

 shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:38-39

O love that will not let me go,

I rest my weary soul in Thee;

I give Thee back the life I owe,

That in Thine ocean depths its flow

May richer, fuller, be.
